After a short stint with Rent One, the original ownership was ready to move on and the opportunity presented itself for Larry to purchase the company—and under his ownership, Rent One has been prospering ever since! He’s always aimed to provide a workplace where employees play an important role in the lives of their clients and co-workers, while proving invaluable to the company itself. In his own words, “attitude will determine your altitude!”

Hobbies:
Baseball, Hiking with His Wife, Enjoying Grandparenthood

Trent joined the Rent One family in 1988 as an account manager. As Rent One grew, so did Trent’s responsibilities. After moving into a store manager role, he next became a regional manager; then a vice president. Today, he is president of Rent One and strives to create the same career opportunities for current and future Rent One employees that the company presented to him!

The most surprising part of his journey:
“I had no management experience when I joined Rent One. I was going to school to be a welder.”

Hobbies:
Boating, Floating, Family Fun

Dave came to Rent One over 5 years ago bringing with him a multitude of experience in the financial realm. His experience has brought new insight to our leadership team that has helped continue to position Rent One for a stable financial future. If there is a number you need found, Dave can find it. If you need help with a spreadsheet Dave can do it!

Hobbies:
Supporting the St.Louis Blues, traveling to visit his two sons.

After serving in the Air Force and starting a company on his own, Keith Carrico joined Rent One to guide them in human resources and other employee services. Over the years he has managed to wear many hats and assist with the creating the foundation and core of Rent One values. He is our go to guru for anything people related from DISC assessments to HR Law. Keith brings a consistent arm to our leadership team in the HR department and we’re glad he’s on our team.

Hobbies:
Gardening, hiking, and playing with his dogs.

Growing up in the rent to own industry, Kelly has brought a unique perspective to the leadership team. In her almost 10 years with the company she has numerous roles leading to a well-balanced understanding of how operations integrates with company needs. She is always looking to put the people first and consistently finding ways to celebrate our employees. If you’ve got an idea – she’s the one to put it into practice.

Hobbies:
Anything with her kids, spending time at the lake, cheering on the Blues.

A long-time member of the Rent One family, Mike joined the IT department as a programmer in February 2003 and was promoted to Director of IT in 2009. Eleven years and several certifications later, this tech guru received a fancy new title: VP of Information Technology! Mike loves that technology is constantly evolving and looks forward to ensuring that Rent One not only remains a leader in the rent-to-own industry but a leader in innovative technology as well.

Hobbies:
Collecting and selling sports cards (baseball mainly), watching action movies in his home theater and playing the drums.

Mark has spent more than 20 years in the rent-to-own industry. He began his career with Rent One in 1994, when the company had only 16 locations: “I was in college when I started as a way to make ends meet. I found success early and stayed.” He worked his way from part-time delivery technician to store management to middle management before stepping into an executive role for the company. Today, he is Rent One’s vice president of sales and marketing!

Hobbies:
Family Fun, Community Outreach

Lori McGovern started working at Rent One in 1989, as a part-time (after school) employee, assisting Sharon Carrico (co-owner) with any task necessary—which often included stuffing envelopes, ordering supplies for the stores and helping the Mt. Vernon store in her downtime. She is now vice president of information systems and still takes on any task necessary to contribute to the company’s success.

Her advice to potential employees:
“Love what you are doing, and do what you love!”
